At Granite Empire, we’re your ultimate destination for countertop solutions. As experts who tackle all countertop challenges, we understand that a successful countertop installation is a meticulous process. Whether it’s granite, quartz, or marble, our professionals ensure a flawless result without compromising your home or the countertop itself. Here’s what to expect and how to get ready for your upcoming countertop installation journey.
Step 1: Preparing for a Smooth Start
Ensure a clear path from your kitchen or bathroom to the nearest entrance, minimizing the maneuvering required to carry heavy stones. During stone transport, keep children and pets away to ensure safety. If a cooktop will be installed, cover furniture and belongings to protect against dust. Lower cabinets should be cleared to aid installation and cleanup.
Step 2: Existing Countertop Removal
Before installation, existing countertops must be removed. Our installers take care to minimize damage to walls and cabinets. Small plaster defects from removal can be patched or concealed by the new backsplash.
Step 3: Precise Countertop Installation
Once stone slabs are placed on bare countertops, our professionals level and secure them. Properly leveled cabinets are crucial to support the heavy stones. Shims address cabinet unevenness. Additional supports or corbels are added if needed. Epoxy secures stone pieces and is color-matched on-site. Blocks provide extra security.
Step 4: Cutouts, Backsplash, and Sink Installation
For a cooktop, on-site cutouts are made to ensure safe transportation. Faucet and soap dispenser holes are drilled on-site. Provide faucets for proper installation. Undermount sinks are fixed using clips and silicone for a watertight seal. Allow 12 hours for curing before connecting faucets and plumbing.
Step 5: Your Role During Installation
While installers appreciate your presence for queries, please offer them space to work efficiently and safely. You can inspect the finished job once installation is done.
Step 6: Final Touches
After installation, we evaluate the sturdiness and levelness of your countertops. Excess epoxy and dust are removed for seamless finishes using denatured alcohol or acetone. The entire process typically takes around 3 hours for a small kitchen and up to 7 hours for a larger, complex kitchen. Once your counters are ready, maintain their beauty with a specially formulated granite countertop cleaner.
Choose Granite Empire for a seamless countertop installation experience that enhances the aesthetics and functionality of your space.
